Peter Largen is Executive Vice President, Operations for MOTOR Information Systems, a unit of Hearst Corporation, and the leader in vehicle aftermarket information solutions. In this role, Mr. Largen is responsible for general management including the strategic and operational leadership of marketing, product management, application development, content development, customer service, and information technology operations. Mr. Largen also served as Chief Technology Officer for the company.
Mr. Largen previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Jentro Technologies, GmbH where he lead marketing, product management, and client services. Jentro offered a platform for turn-by-turn navigation, integrated local search, traffic, social networking and vertical content integration deployed on over 160 different mass market mobile devices, on multiple operating systems, and across three continents.
At CenterPost Communications Mr. Largen held the position of Chief Operating Officer where he led sales, marketing, product management, product development, and professional services organizations. CenterPost offered a hosted and managed software-as-a-service multi-channel communications platform used by Fortune 1000 companies to acquire, care for, grow and retain customers via web-based user preferences for automated voice, email, fax, text and instant messaging. Mr. Largen's work resulted in the sale of the company to West Corporation.
Mr. Largen served as Chief Marketing Officer at CCC Information Services, Inc., a market leader with over $200 million in sales from software, network, and information services for the North American automotive insurance claims and collision repair industries. In addition, he served as Chief Operating Officer of DriveLogic, Inc., an e-commerce subsidiary using Internet and wireless technology solutions to simplify information flow and reduce cycle time for the auto claims and collision repair industries. He also served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of ChoiceParts LLC., the auto parts network founded by CCC, Automatic Data Processing, Inc., and The Reynolds and Reynolds Company. ChoiceParts offered real-time online parts procurement integrated into existing dealer management systems. During his decade-long tenure, Mr. Largen held the most senior positions in marketing, product management, and technology.
Prior to joining CCC, Mr. Largen served six years with Hollander Inc., the premier provider of proprietary parts information databases and custom software solutions to the North American automotive recycling industry. As Vice President of Operations, he was responsible for product research and development, database publishing, and customer service. Success of his initiatives enabled sale of the company to Automatic Data Processing, Inc.
Early in his career, Mr. Largen was the founder of several small businesses, including companies providing retail computer system consulting, theatrical production services, and recording artist management. Mr. Largen was also a founding investor of ADNA, LLC, a venture fund identifying and developing technologies that benefit the North American automotive recycling industry.
Mr. Largen attended both the Institute of Technology and College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, receiving a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in 1984.
Peter Largen has two children, and is married to Maria Kelly who has two children of her own. They share their home with a cat.
Peter is an actor, musician, woodworker, mechanic, and coder by avocation, and occasionally takes time to see the back roads of the midwest from the perspective of two wheels.
